Welcome to the Pro-Peace Protest

The United States of Israel has entered into open war with the nation of Iran.

Democratic Socialists of America, Kern County wholly rejects all explanations, justifications and false pretense for this invasion by the American empire. Nuclear programs, impending attacks, Iranian liberation and every other shifting justification is dismissible, with prejudice.

DSA Kern County rejects that a petty, 79 year old man child, sexual abuser, fraud and failed insurrectionist is capable of altruistic public service to the American people.

These actions are in service to the American empire & their current proxy owners – the expansionist, genocidal nation of Israel. Civilians are being targeted. Children are being murdered. Family of regime leaders being bombed. TV stations, schools, political prisons and other infrastructure are being destroyed.

As socialists, we reaffirm our opposition to imperialism in all its forms : military intervention, economic coercion, sanctions, and regime change.

We call for an immediate end to hostilities, a withdrawal of U.S. military assets from the region, and a recommitment to genuine diplomacy and international solidarity. We stand with workers and oppressed peoples everywhere – including within Iran – against war, occupation, and empire.

We demand that the U.S. government stop using lies, fear-mongering, and nuclear rhetoric to justify endless war. The lives of youths, of children, of families on every side of this conflict matter more than geopolitical ambition.

The Protest

This protest is about non-violence and non-compliance through the active withdrawal of consent from the American Empire.

The goal of this action is to peacefully disrupt, even if only modestly, the traffic and commercial activity along one mile of Stockdale Highway – from River Walk Park to Rep. Vince Fong’s office – including every crosswalk in between.

Along this one-mile stretch are ten (10) direct protest targets that materially support the expansionist policies of the state of Israel and its primary backer, the United States – including Rep. Vince Fong’s office.

By maintaining a visible presence across the corridor, protesters will draw attention to these institutions and communicate a clear message: our consent for these policies is withdrawn.

This action is rooted in non-violent resistance, public visibility, and the collective refusal to normalize policies that enable war crimes and imperial expansion.

The Tactics

The tactic is simple. Between River Walk Park and Fong’s office there are five (5) crosswalks along Stockdale Highway. Our goal is to have five separate protest groups, one at each crosswalk along this mile stretch.

All protesters should remain on the sidewalks and follow pedestrian safety rules, staying clear of traffic. The objective is visibility, not confrontation.

Protesters should spread out along the sidewalks at each intersection, maintaining a visible presence and keeping signs facing traffic whenever possible. Participants should also activate the crosswalk signals regularly, keeping them lit as often as possible. When done safely and within normal pedestrian use, this helps maintain red lights along the corridor and slows traffic naturally, giving drivers and passersby more time to see the demonstration.

By spreading out across these five intersections and keeping the signals active, protesters can create a continuous, visible presence along the entire corridor. This busy retail stretch of road, located in an affluent neighborhood, ensures that drivers and passersby will see the demonstration and the message that we withdraw our consent from policies that enable ongoing war crimes and imperial violence.

This action is meant to raise awareness and encourage people in the area to reconsider their support – political and economic – for those policies.

We do not want protesters entering the street, blocking traffic, taunting drivers, or occupying crosswalks beyond normal pedestrian use. The purpose of this protest is to be seen and heard safely. Getting injured—or worse—is not the goal.
